As with all my spotlights, I can only share so much without giving away spoilers, so please keep that in mind.
Xane Lucas
Early years
Xane was born to middle-class, wolf-shifter parents near the Wisconsin-Canada border. He was their miracle baby, and was always doted on, but never to the point of turning him into spoiled brat. His brother, Paxton, was seven years his senior. Once Paxton was born, their parents were told that, due to complications during pregnancy, the mother could never safely conceive again. They desperately wanted another baby to raise with Paxton as a companion, but every time they thought they had succeeded, a miscarriage soon followed.
After too much heartache, they decided to adopt a coyote-shifter child who stole their hearts. The two-year-old Taran was only a year younger than Paxton, and the pair grew very close. Four years later, an unexpected Xane arrived, and their family was finally complete.
The age difference between Xane and the older boys left him playing on his own most of the time, unless he was out with friends or had some over. He became exceptionally good at video games, whether console, PC, or mobile based. His reflexes and hand-eye coordination far excelled those of anyone in his family, much to the chagrin of his brothers when he started dominating them in every video game.
Later years
When Xane was 16, his parents were killed in a plane crash on their way home from an anniversary trip to Finland. By then, Taran was already serving in the military, and Paxton had moved in with some friends of his at the Outagamie Pack compound. Fortunately, after much aggravation, Xane was placed in his brother’s care until he turned 18.
Paxton worked as an assistant manager at a local pizza place and got Xane a job there. Years later, Paxton took over as manager, and Xane got his brother’s former assistant manager job. The pair lived in separate houses on the compound, allowing them each their space, but the eldest brother would soon be moving out to live with his girlfriend.
Xane had gone through a few girlfriends, but only the second had been a serious relationship. He also didn’t really go out of his way to find people to date—if something happened by chance, then so be it. Most of his free time involved hanging out with friends, playing video games, and working on his Twitch stream. Whenever there was drama, he did his best to stay clear, but he was only was willing to lend a helping hand.
